Always on the lookout to try something new. Found several recipes online that were similar to this on. Simple enough to make. Boys really liked it. I double the recipe and put half away for another night for a quick dinner. Froze very well. Recently made this but added some diced onion and diced green bell pepper, super yummy! I have made some notes on the sides.
Baked Ham Penne
2 lbs pasta ( i used penne, you can use anything)
1 jar alfredo sauce (any brand you like, or you can make your own)
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (separated)
1 pack chunk ham.
seasonings: onion salt, pepper, cayenne pepper is optional)
small pads of butter for top
1 med onion, diced
1 large green bell pepper, diced
Preheat oven to 425degrees. Cook pasta per box directions until just past the Al-dente stage. Heat your sauce, add your seasoning, ham, and one cup cheese. stir well, to get the cheese melted. Add onion and bell pepper. Drain your pasta and add to the sauce. Pour mixture into a greased 9x13 pan, smooth the top and sprinkle with remaining cup of cheese. Dot the top with your pads of butter and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and brown.
